The Alachua Police Department is concerned with the safety of its citizens, not only their personal safety, but safety of their property as well. A number of prevention programs have been developed to reduce the potential of the City of Alachua residents becoming crime victims.
The Alachua Police Department's Crime Prevention Unit is responsible for the creation and administration of crime prevention programs that are offered to the public. Officers make public presentations for organizations and community groups throughout the community, on a variety of topics.
