The City of Alachua Mosquito Control Department seeks to protect the public health, safety and welfare by using science-based, environmentally sensitive, integrated mosquito control techniques employing public education, surveillance, source reduction, biological control and the judicious use of pesticides to enhance the quality of life for City of Alachua residents.

The City of Alachua's newest mosquito vehicle is now equipped with an advanced radar control speed detector, which will disperse chemicals automatically to provide effective and efficient utilization of chemicals.

Just a reminder. Mosquito season is upon us! To help control the mosquito population, take a moment to look around your home and make sure there is no standing water in buckets, old tires, and other water standing areas. Due to all the rain this year, this should help control some of the mosquito population that we acquire thru the summer months. As always. Thank you.
