Wastewater Collection SystemThe City of Alachua's Wastewater Division operates and maintains facilities that provide the City of Alachua with safe, responsible treatment of its wastewater. Each day, approximately 400,000 gallons of wastewater is conveyed to the Paul O' Dea Wastewater Treatment Facility for treatment via gravity collection mains, pumping stations, and force mains. The Wastewater Division is staffed with four (4) State certified employees that maintain the wastewater collection system and treatment facility, assist customers with wastewater related problems, and ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations for wastewater collection and treatment facilities.
