The City of Alachua's qualifying period for the scheduled April 9, 2024 election ended at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, February 27, 2024. Two commission seats are open for election:

Seat 4 - Shirley Green Brown

Seat 5 - Jennifer Blalock
                  Eric L. Ford

Shirley Green Brown is the current Commissioner and in that she was the only qualifier for Seat 4, that race will not appear on the ballot. The Seat 5 race is the only item to be placed on the April 9, 2024 election ballot.

The polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at the Legacy Park Multipurpose Center, the Cleather Hathcock, Sr. Community Center and the Clubhouse at Turkey Creek. Candidate documents are available for review in the Deputy City Clerk’s office at Alachua City Hall.

 ***UPDATE: As of 9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, 78 Vote-By-Mail ballots have been received; zero ballots have been counted.
