Widely regarded as the area's best and most diverse program, the Alachua Recreation Department offers year-round activities and facilities for its wide range of sports and fitness programs. We are committed to continue offering the finest, most comprehensive programs available locally.

From seasonal leagues--football, softball, volleyball, soccer and more--to the infrequent tennis player, there is opportunity for all to participate. Mission Statement:  The mission of the Recreation and Culture Department is to give children and adults opportunities to enjoy sports, leisure activities, cultural experiences and family outings in a safe, family friendly environment.  All persons are welcome regardless of race, religion, age, gender or disadvantages and may not be discriminated against while participating in any activity or cultural event.  The Department of Recreation and Culture encourages volunteers to have a major voice in our many programs within the City of Alachua.
