Santa Fe College

Santa Fe College has for many years been ranked as one of the best community colleges in the nation, and it includes the Charles R. and Nancy V. Perry Center for Emerging Technologies satellite campus here in Alachua. Its main campus is in nearby Gainesville.

The University of Florida (UF) was named the top public university in America by the Wall Street Journal in 2024, and it has been routinely ranked among the top 5 public universities by US News and World Report over the past several years.

Its main campus is located about 20 minutes from Alachua in Gainesville, and it has a strong partnership with the City of Alachua dating back to the 1990s with the creation of the UF Sid Martin Biotech Incubator, the world-renowned business incubator responsible for launching several of Alachua's successful bio-life science companies.
