Home MenuMosquito Control
Mosquitoes, often considered mere nuisances, can pose significant health risks to communities. Our mosquito control programs play a crucial role in mitigating these risks and enhancing the quality of life for residents. Our program offer a range of benefits, from reducing the spread of mosquito-borne diseases to improving the outdoor enjoyment.
Our mission is to safeguard public health, safety, and welfare through the use of science-based, environmentally sensitive mosquito control methods. We employ a comprehensive approach that includes public education, surveillance, source reduction, biological control, and careful pesticide use. By doing so, our mosquito control programs provide a range of benefits that contribute to the overall health and well-being of Alachua.
Cutting-Edge Technology for Effective Mosquito Control
We are proud to announce that our newest mosquito control vehicles are equipped with an advanced radar control speed detector. This technology allows for the automatic dispersal of chemicals, ensuring precise and efficient use of these materials to effectively manage mosquito populations while minimizing the impact on non-target species and the environment.
A Call to Action for City of Alachua Residents
As mosquito season approaches (February and runs through the first part of November), we urge all residents to join us in our efforts to control the mosquito population. Please take a moment to inspect your property for any potential breeding grounds, such as standing water in buckets, old tires, and other containers. By eliminating these breeding sites, we can significantly reduce the number of mosquitoes in our area. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated as we work together to create a safer, more comfortable environment for everyone in our community.
Thank you for your continued support!
