San Felasco Nature Trail
Site development began in 2010 with financial support from the Florida Recreation Development & Assistance Program (FRDAP), and the Alachua County Recreation Surtax, also known as the Wild Spaces, Public Places initiative. Existing improvements include a single-use hiking trail approximately one mile in length, a Babe Ruth baseball field with stands, a restroom/concession facility, a trail-head kiosk, interpretive signage, a scenic pond overlook, and bike rack.
Planned improvements during the next year include a playground near the baseball field and picnic pavilion adjacent to one of two legacy live oaks located along the trail. Other improvements to begin in 2011 and be completed in 2012 will include interpretive signage, a trail-head kiosk, native restoration and landscaping.
