The City of Alachua Recreation Department offers a great variety of programs and services for our seniors. Activities include the opportunity to travel, socialize with friends, increase knowledge, contribute to the community and much more. The Cleather Hathcock, Sr. Community Center serves as a focal point for our senior activities. It is located at 15818 NW 140th Street, Alachua, FL 32615. Become a member of the senior program by attending any of our activities. Come join us and volunteers are always welcome.

Senior Bingo
Come Join us every Wednesday at the Hathcock Center from 10:00am - 12:00pm for some exciting games of Bingo. There is no cost to play, we simply ask for the players to bring a small prize which we add to the table for our winners to choose from at the end of each game. Hope to see you there!
Thursdays
Senior Cha Chas
If you want to show off your dance moves or just move around and have fun, come join the Senior Cha Chas! Practice is held every Thursday at Legacy Park multipurpose Center from 11:00am- 12:00pm.
Crafty Gemini

Senior Fieldtrips with The Crafty Gemini!
º Once a quarter we invite our local seniors to take a day trip together. Whether enjoying a buffet style lunch in a neighboring town, traveling to visit the coast or taking an educational day trip, this is a fun way to get out, to socialize and to enjoy the day. SHINE - Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders
SHINE (Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders) is a free program offered by the Florida Department of Elder Affairs and your local Area Agency on Aging, Elder Options. Specially trained volunteers can assist you with your Medicare, Medicaid, and health insurance questions by providing one-on-one counseling and information. SHINE services are free, unbiased, and confidential. The SHINE program supports the Florida Department of Elder Affairs’ mission by providing free and unbiased health insurance counseling through a dedicated network of volunteers, empowering Florida seniors to make informed health care choices. Your Area Agency on Aging, Elder Options, is your link to aging, disability, LTC Medicaid & Medicare Services in North Central Florida .
